## Accessing RStudio
You can access RStudio in three ways:
1. **Docker containers**: As a Duke student, you can access RStudio through a Docker container maintained by Duke OIT. Go to https://vm-manage.oit.duke.edu/containers and log in using your Duke NetID credentials.
1. **RStudio Cloud**: Sign up for a free account https://rstudio.cloud/
1. **Install R on your computer**: See the chapter [Install or upgrade R and RStudio](https://happygitwithr.com/install-r-rstudio.html) in *Happy Git and GitHub for the useR* for step-by-step instructions to install R and RStudio.
## Using the interactive tutorials
Many of the tutorials on this site were created using [Shiny](https://shiny.rstudio.com/) from RStudio. You will need to log into Duke's VPN in order to access these tutorials.
If you do not have [Duke's VPN](https://oit.duke.edu/what-we-do/services/vpn) client installed on your computer, go to https://portal.duke.edu to install the appropriate VPN client.
To log into VPN:
1. Click on the VPN client. Type **vpn.duke.edu** and click **Connect**.
1. Enter your Duke NetID and password.
1. Choose an option to receive the multi-factor authentication and complete the authentication process.
1. Click continue, and you are now in the VPN and ready to do the interactive tutorials!
Visit the [Duke OIT website](https://oit.duke.edu/what-we-do/services/vpn) for more information about VPN.
