queryRenderedFeaturesInRect

Can someone look into how queryRederedFeaturesInRect is used, i have used queryRenderedFeatures, it gives features at a point in map, but now i need to search the whole source or a section in the map for which i tried using queryRenderedFeaturesInRect and querySourceFeatures but i cant find a way to use filter also queryRenderedFeaturesInRect is taking filter as string, i think there is some mistake as the other two take list, anyway if someone can show some examples using these two methods using filters, it would be really helpful.
