Many bug with my pinephone,
this version is not usable, fallback to Phosh beta20...

Problems :

  • APN can't be set with all parameters
  • No 4G internet (due to APN impossible setting ?)
  • Telephone APP don't work, automatically close, don't show dialer, impossible to compose.
  • When a phone-call is received, and answered, no audio routing, no dialer UI displayed.
  • Impossible to update: packages are in advance in the image, and want to go to previous version on the repo, example : linux-pinephone 5.16.1-1 ===> 5.15.11-1

Not to discount oopen's experience, as I'm sure mileage will vary, but wanted to share that I didn't have any of these issues.

I was able to set up mobile data with tmobile's apn and I got mms working. The telephone app is working as expected. Inbound and outbound calls worked. I generally don't update immediately so that is untested.

The Plasma Dialer app had a major rewrite done with it's 21.12 release and not all features are implemented yet.

So:

  1. I've tested APN settings (via auto discover settings) regularly, cannot reproduce this issue.
  2. 4G works fine for me.
  3. This is because of the above mentioned state of the Dialer app in general. It's being worked on.
  4. Same as 3.
  5. The image is built using the Unstable branch, but the repositories is pointed at Stable branch. This is done because we know that there will go some time before the factory phones gets shipped out to users, so it's an effort to minimize the amount of updates those users have to do as soon as they get their phone. It will correct itself on the next stable update.
