Need to document a list of common problems and causes, perhaps wiki.

eg. "java.lang.NullPointerException" - is likely the full path to the OAICat config files hasn't been changed, in webapps/oaicat/WEB-INF/web.xml .

eg. "figshare publicArticlesSearch ERROR: {"message": "Unexpected/unknown exception", "code": "UnknownException"}" - is possible there's an error in the format of filter string in config. Tomcat requires a restart after changing.
