Is this definitely how you plan on changing the navigation once the 803 is available? If so, I'll setup the Android version to use a similar pattern that Google is pushing lately, which they call the "NavigationDrawer".

I'm not sure either. It does seem like iOS apps are beginning to move away from this pattern for some reason.

Some reason:

  • the OS used that gesture already for navigating backwards. this often causes conflicts with the slide to reveal menu gesture
  • it isn't always clear that the menu exists
