<p>Children, athletes, older adults, pregnant people, outdoor workers and pets face the most risk from extreme heat. However, everyone can face adverse symptoms when temperatures get above <a style="color:black;" href="https://journals.physiology.org/doi/abs/10.1152/japplphysiol.00738.2021" target="_blank"> 90F/32C (100% humidity) and 100F/38C (60% humidity)</a>.</p>

<summary>How can I keep my pets cool?</summary>
<p>You can do a <a style="color: black;" href="https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/keep-pets-safe-heat#:~:text=Move%20your%20pet%20into%20the,water%20or%20lick%20ice%20cubes." target="_blank">few things </a>to keep your pet safe such as: limiting their exercise on hot days, providing shade and iced water, and getting a cooling wrap/vest for them.</p>

<p>Not every place on this list will be pet friendly, however places like pet stores, water parks, and beaches are much more likely to allow pets.</p>

<summary>What are the signs of heat exhaustion?</summary>
<p>Some <a style="color: black;" href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/heat-exhaustion/symptoms-causes/syc-20373250" target="_blank">symptoms</a> of heat exhaustion are: cool/moist skin, heavy sweating, fainting, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, weak & rapid pulse, headache, muscle cramps, and low blood pressure on standing. You can treat it by stopping all activity, finding a cooler place, and drinking cold water or sports drinks.</p>

<p>Some <a style="color: black;" href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/heat-stroke/symptoms-causes/syc-20353581" target="_blank">symptoms</a> of heatstroke are: high body temperature, altered mentalstate/behavior, alteration in sweating, nausea and vomiting, flushed skin, rapid breathing, a racing heart rate, and a headache. Seek immediate medical help, while wating you should: get indoors, remove excess clothing, and coolyourself by whatever means possible such as a cool shower/bath, using ice packs, or wet towels.</p>
