Current layout is neat but it does not allow to stack up lot of graphs to the screen.

Desired features:

  • minimal borders around the layout
  • possibility to change height of each row of graphs
  • definition of layout should be part of dashboard.js file (?)

Did anybody think about such layout/design already? Thank you, .zp.

Something in this direction was already mentioned on http://dashboarddude.com/blog/2013/12/16/dashboard-giraffe/. And I think they are all good suggestions. At the same time note that the post above said that configuration is already too complicated, so I hope to find a way to customize the visual settings without actually making dashboards.js more complicated if possible.

My css skills are somehow limited. And there are a few pending issues that could benefit from someone with more experience (and time) taking over. For me personally, it's ok to have a fairly restricted options in terms of layout and less options to worry about in dashboards.js might be better in the long run than being able to tweak too much. And to some extent, people can already tweak the css/html if they want. But I definitely see some need for this. It's important that if something like this is implemented, it doesn't compromise the simplicity that gets you started. So the defaults must stay simple, and also ideally this customization should be simple and clear.

There are a couple more css-related enhancements that I'd be happy to see someone taking care of, if they are interested. e.g. #36 (would be nice to be able to switch easily between 'themes' like light/dark), #45 and #53 - so I'm definitely looking for volunteers to take care of those style/layout related enhancements.
