What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the following from within IDLE using Python 2.7.3(matplotlib as graphing
backend)

from scitools.std import *

def f(t):
    return t**2*exp(-t**2)

t = linspace(0, 3, 51)
y = f(t)
plot(t, y)

The generated plot window is non-responsive and requires a forced stop of
pythonw.exe

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Scitools 0.9.0 win32, on Windows 8.

Please provide any additional information below.
