Add the Insert Symbols functionality to Anki core

I am a contributor to Anki, and have some interest in adding the feature set of this add-on to Anki itself, as it seems to be one of the most used Anki add-ons, providing a very basic functionality.

If you want to, you can give me some pointers on lessons learned over the time you maintained the add-on, and I could keep them in mind while implementing it.

So sorry @hgiesel -- I have not been very active here. I think that would be very cool to do, provided that the rest of the Anki team is in favor of it too (I'm not sure if there are any strong thoughts on what "should" and "should not" be a core part of Anki).
