Despite being parked for a little bit, I still think pq is amazing and I was pondering the idea of using as a DuckDB Extension now that we have a rust framework available. Do you consider it abandonware or still worth maintaining if there are contributions/contributors?

Hi @lmangani! This project is de facto abandoned, but I haven't lost the hope to return to it one day. It was born out of necessity - I used to deal with large volumes of raw log data, and I desperately needed to compute some ad-hoc metrics on it in a handy way (i.e., w/o writing N disposable python scripts a day). The nature of my work changed, and this need is gone now. Without it, I lost the motivation to work on the project. If the need is back or a miracle happens and I have some spare time, I'd gladly get back to pq.
