If I understand correctly, the example package
helloPkg-javascript = pkgs.pkgsCross.ghcjs.haskell-nix.hackage-package { inherit compiler-nix-name; name = "hello"; version = "1.0.0.2"; };
uses ghcjs to compile hello to JavaScript. For context, GHCJS is a fork of GHC 8.10.7.
