Main controller swapping when switching out of battle

For a little while there has been a bug where if there are multiple devices connected, the "main" device will switch off and the current one the player is using won't be able to control the game.
As far as I know this happens when:
-playing solo mode battles with controller(s) connected

Additionally, an issue that is probably closely related: in PvP and solo mode often one or more of the controllers will not be able to control the UI while the keyboard/another controller can.

Exact cause is not known but probably related to how the game handles controllers that setup in different ways when switching between scenes
