We’ve had at least one example of someone trying to put mf2 property classnames outside the root h-* element. All testers which do mf2 parsing could make a list of all elements with mf2 property classnames which are found outside of any h-* root (i.e. are going unparsed) and list them to the user as potential quick-fixes.
