Vote for this feature if you'd like to see support for AppImage format on Linux.

NB: Please only vote for one new package format at a time, so we can get an idea of which ones matter most

Why AppImage?

One build file supports all leading OS - https://appimage.org/
Integrates smoothly in OS menu ( if you or your distro have installed 'appimaged' or any other integration )
Can support auto update if you want - as it's just fetching new file from some storage and replacing single file.
Easy to deliver - as easy as windows binaries
Allow offline installations

Thanks for the suggestion - we'll leave this here for people to vote for. So far though it seems more people are asking for Flatpak than AppImage.
