Hi,
I am not using apache within magneto setups that I do, apache is to lazy for that and works not like it should in Magento environments so I am not able to tell you anything about trafficeserver. I am using nginx which is a web server projected for high traffic sites. If you want a fast Magento store I can setup for you. My setup works nice and I can accomplish in a day, it depends on your current server configuration.
Thanks
Yane
