Without the correct sources, the iso will be build withour error. During the final install you get a error.

Update the /etc/apt/sources.list

echo "deb http://deb.debian.org/debian buster main contrib non-free" > /etc/apt/sources.list # > = only this text in the file
echo "deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian buster main contrib non-free" >> /etc/apt/sources.list # >> = append
echo "deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security buster/updates main contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list # >> = append
echo "deb-src http://security.debian.org/debian-security buster/updates main contrib" >> /etc/apt/sources.list # >> = append
apt-get update # update the sources.list with the system

if the iso builder is not present, install it.

apt-get install live-build debootstrap squashfs-tools xorriso grub-pc-bin grub-efi-amd64-bin mtools isolinux

The skynet directory will hold the final hybrid ISO. This live-build process takes about 4-6 hours.

lb clean

Check if your kernel sources are not outdated, older kernels may be deleted from current source list :
