We've had some conversations about an alternative, more data-focused DataTask abstraction. It would be good to explore the performance of such an abstraction compared to the existing one, and what benefits it provides to the user. Concerns have been raised about the size of the task graph, and implementing and testing the new abstraction will be useful to determine whether those concerns are valid.
