Bookmark category collapsed by default?

Is there a way to have a particular bookmark category collapsed by default? I've just started using this and I've populated it with a lot of links, and I'm starting to run out of screen real-estate. Being able to collapse less-frequently used categories would be helpful to keep the more relevant ones visible while still keeping the others easily accessible.

I’m using this custom.js line, replace “Bookmark in group” with the name of a book mark in the bookmark group you want to collapse.

setTimeout( function(){
document.querySelector('[data-name="Bookmark in group"]').closest('.bookmark-group').querySelector('button').click();
}, 1000);

YMMV. It would be really nice if this was added as a property in the layout in settings.yml.
EDIT: had to add setTimeout to make it more reliable, there might be a better way …

I actually ended up discovering the tab functionality and broke things up into a slew of different tabs, but thanks for replying to this thread. I'll keep that in mind if I need to revisit this again in the future!
