In some cases (sites) mean annual P < AET (as @FrancescoGrossi-unimi finds). Water mass balance violation should be checked:

  • In each time step, is Delta soil moisture = AET?
  • When bucket gets depleted to negative values, if condition captures it and sets it to zero. This might be a source of water balance violation.
