Is there a way to had YTM premium access to get better audio format ? #1159

Hi all,

Is it possible to use our custom YTM premium account with ytdl-core in order to have more and better quality audio format, for example ?

From now, the highest quality I can get is the itag: 140 (m4a) but YouTube Music use a higher format : itag: 141 (m4a)

I see, getting the better format seems to be more difficult than I thought...
Can the better audio be retrieve by command line tools such as yt-dlp with cookies? (able to check available formats by passing the -F option) if so the lib might have something to be done in order to get in the format, and at the current the lib seems to be unable to get the better format

yt-dlp approach

Unfortunatly, this approach doesn't give me much, I found a similar result and no sign of high quality:

And it should since there new features:

255kbps audio is extracted (if available) from YouTube Music when premium cookies are given

hmm.... yt-dlp should work naturally since saying available though....
music.youtube.com/... url instead of youtube.com/watch?v=... might work and if it works properly then, that should be a sign that we're unable to download the better format with ytdl-core that always gets data as youtube video from youtube url.

Yeah, I tried it too, but I got the same result as presented above. Maybe I'm missing something with the cookies.

[Edit] I finally made it to work with my Windows in order to retrieve cookies from my web browser, and it worked (only with the music.youtube url) !

Hint

I guess some cookies are required, but not only from the YouTube domain. It may require cookie across multiple domain, such as Google. During my research I found this post explaining this approach, and it says to export the cookies from :

YouTube (youtube.com)
Google (google.com)
Google Account (myaccount.google.com)

But even with them, I do not get the expected result, then I guess some are missing.
