Currently the only bulk operation supported for changing photos metadata is "Adjust Date and Time...":
select a bunch of photos
right click for context menu
This is definitely not enough for users, who're having big media libraries, who wants to get benefit from having all their photos/videos to have proper EXIF metadata in them.
Proposal
To add an option to bulk modify tags, assign descriptions to both photos and videos.
The UX could be pretty much the same, as it's now done for adjusting dates - so user have to select a bunch of photos first, then rightclick and pick the edit option he wants:
edit tags
edit GPS location
edit comments
Prior Art (Optional)

You can bulk add a tag by selecting a group of photos and dragging them onto a tag in the sidebar. I agree this is not obvious and there should be an entry in the context menu to do the same.
I am not sure bulk application of a description/comment makes sense as this is intended to be specific to an image. You can apply and event or tag to a group of images and then rename the event or tag with the desired text (although the length is more limited)
