Send friend request or receive? And how to use on_member_join event?

The caption says it all. How do I send friend requests or confirm one? And how to know if someone accepted my request or not?

Also, I tried to use the on_member_join event using client.event decorator. Seems like it's not working. Any way to fix?

on_member_* events are currently flaky at best. The only one that currently works is on_member_update.

You can access relationships with client.user.relationships. These objects tell you what type of relationship it ie, and also let you accept/deny them. You can send friend requests with Member/User.send_friend_request.

it seems it isn't dispatched if it can't find the message in the cache. So, if you want reaction events not in the message cache, continue using on_raw_reaction_add.

A way you could do this is something like this:

    user = data.member or state._get_reaction_user(message.channel, data.user_id)
    if user is None:
        if channel.guild:
            users = await channel.guild.query_members(user_ids=[data.user_id])
        if users:
            user = users[0]
        else:
            user = await self.fetch_user(data.user_id)

    self.dispatch('reaction_add', reaction, user)

This should getch the missing message/user and dispatch on_reaction_add (untested). It requires the latest development version!
Note: You should only do this if you really need the values not in raw_reaction_add, else it can lead to unnecessary api requests which could mean a ban.
