UX issues in new submission system #3874
Comments
The actual expectation here is that they will fill in the DOI and click "Import metadata." You obviously do not think this is clear, the addition of the text "Enter your publication information and import the title and other metadata" has not helped, nor has the help text below. What should be done to make this path more obvious, @jeremywalter? Do we need to outline the empty "DOI" field in red or something? |
Bug description:
If you click on Add Funder and don't populate the next entry and move on, the system will flag it as " XXX granting organization required." Should add text here to indicate that the author can just delete the empty entry. "Delete the XXX entry if not required." or something like that.
When returning (as a user) to a PPR dataset it is not clear how to proceed. If I click on Release for Curation on the My Datasets screen, I get:
If the user chooses to revise instead they see the Data submission preview preview page with all the submission steps, but not clear indication that they need to go to Agreements and release (if in PPR) to manually move it to curation.
When you don't enter a Title on the first go through, but indicate your data is in a published article, the Title entry block disappears. You have to toggle the 'Is your data used in a published article' to get it back.
Payment + terms text has a spelling error "afee" instead of "a fee".
