Hello BnpC team,

Thanks again for a very nice tool. I have a small question regarding the interpretation of the heatmap (genoCluster_posterior_mean.png) generated by Bnpc tool. Since there was no legends available in the heatmap, I am wondering what 0,-,x represent in the image and i am also wondering if the read color mean mutation or the event responsible for the clonal formation.

I look forward to your answer and thank you so much for your help in advance.

Best,
Monica

Dear Monica,

the legend for the heatmap can be read as following:

  • red: mutation present,
  • white: mutation not present

the 0,-, and x indicate a difference between the input data and the inferred data:

  • 0 = input data: mutation, inferred: no mutation (hence, a false positive in the input data)
  • x = input data: no mutation, inferred: mutation (hence, a false negative in the input data)
  • - = input data: missing (inferred: no mutation/mutation)

Hope that makes the interpretation clearer.

Best,
Nico
