Description
I had a several configurations on 1.1.0 version. Now they have all disappeared. Is it possible to recover them somehow?

Environment (please include the following information):

  • Operating system: Windows 11
  • Elasticvue version: 1.2.0 desktop version
  • How are you running elasticvue? (docker, browser extension, web app): .exe

Hey @romanberdnikov, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with elasticvue. This is the first time someone has reported a problem like this. Have you changed how you use Elasticvue? For example, did you first install the browser extension and then switch to the desktop version, or did you switch from the .exe to the .msi installer? Additionally, have you used any kind of cleaning tool on Windows that aims to delete caches, unused files, etc.?

Hi @cars10, thank you for the involvement.

I used the desktop application all the time. When I opened the app, all my configurations were in place. I got a popup asking if I want to update the app to 1.2.0 version.

After the update I relaunched the app (without any other actions like using cleaning tools, etc) and it was a clean installation.

I have used cleaning tools much earlier, if this gives any information...

Same issue after upgrading from 1.0.x to 1.2.0

I don't remember how I originally installed the desktop version, the update went through an MSI installer.

Mh, guess something changed on windows during the upgrade to tauri 2.0... I will try to grab a windows VM somewhere to reproduce this

So far i was not able to reproduce this issue. Updating from 1.x to 1.2 or 1.3 and i still have all the configuration. You could try to install the old version, make a backup, install the new version and import the backup - if the old version still shows the data for you.
Also, did you uninstall elasticvue before updating? Because i did not in my testing

I just updated from 1.2.0 to 1.4.0 and all the configurations are in place

My update process (now and earlier):

  1. Do you want to update (popup)?
  2. I click yes, a msi package is downloaded
  3. The app is restarting (last time configurations disappeared)

so no, I didn't uninstall it.

maybe I had a 1.0.0-beta-* version...
I will try to replicate the bug next weekends

I've done two updates since 1.2 and no configuration loss. So maybe a one time issue?
Same update process as the author.
