Add ability to add shortcuts to Android launcher?

I was trying to figure out how to add Winlator game shortcuts to the Android launcher homescreen of my phone, but I found that this feature was removed in version 8. I don't know why such a handy qol feature was removed, but is there any chance it might get brought back? In the meantime I may actually try downgrading to 7.1 and see if my games work on it, because this is just such a great feature

So I tried downgrading to 7.1, but the option I saw in various screenshots was still not there. It must have been a mod feature. So I guess this is a new feature I'm requesting, not one that was removed.
