Single-Cell Portal overview

Please note the portal and wiki are in Beta! Your feedback is so valuable and thank you!

Welcome!

The BRAIN (Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies) initiative is part of a presidential directive to harness and develop technologies to better understand the brain. The Single-Cell RNA-Seq Portal for Brain Research was developed to facilitate sharing scientific results, and disseminate datasets resulting from the NIH's BRAIN initiative.

  • Overviews of studies and subsets of cells can be visualized as ordinations of cells with annotations describing substructure.
  • Panels of marker genes can be visualized throughout a full study or within subclusters of cells.
  • The expression of individual genes can be viewed within study cohorts or subclusters, as well as, throughout ordinations of cells painted by the gene's expression.
  • Study data, metadata, notable lists of genes, clusters of interest, and tailored ordinations of cells can all be made available by the authors of the study for directly download.
