I ran into problems wanting to fully dist-upgrade before realizing that approx.90% of the FS is packed.

At this point in time it's not possible to (fully) dist upgrade without having this issue.


Up until this is fixed you might want to use a combination of gparted, gnome-disk-utility (and truncate; if, like in my case, you have to bring down the size of unallocated space 32gb->16gb)

What I did just after burning the image with etcher, was to use partition editor and resize the root partition on the SD to the max available size. But yes, would be interesting to create a first-time script to detect and resize the root partition to the 100%FREE
