Allow config by package.json's biome key?

How about allow config by package.json? keep all config in one file can make project directory clean. some other tools also store their config in package.json like vscode and tree-sitter.

Other people proposed that already somewhere.

I am personally not fond of this practice, because it bloats the manifest file

For most projects, the config shouldn't be too large.
