433 MHz signal reception processing on Homey Pro 2023 is very poor #347
Comments
We are unable to verify this internally. There is alot of dependant factors on this like orientation. I have asked internally why support is blaming the app. |
Thanks for looking into this @jeroenwienk. Is there anything I can do to help you reproduce this? There seem to be some protocols that completely don't work on the HP23. E.g. the 'TFA' protocol that the TFA 30.3139 uses. If you need e.g. some sensors to reproduce this, please let me know. |
Still nothing works for me..... |
As developer of the Wireless Weather app I get a lot of complaints from users that they cannot receive the 433 MHz signals with Homey Pro 2023. This whilst the app uses the v3 SDK and works well on earlier Homey hardware, like the Homey Pro 2019.
When user complain about the 433 reception of HP23 they are told the app is at fault (see e.g. ticket 121067). Hoewever, there is no way to change the app specifically for HP23 and this also should not be needed.
To verify the users claims, I had to buy a HP23 to compare (:-( ). Comparison shows that 433 signal reception (or processing) on HP23 is very bad.
See nlrb/com.weather-sensors#130 (comment) for details.
Of course all tested with latest FW and app version.
Please address this in the HP23 firmware.
