You should be able to browse through your locally persisted history without an internet connection or without actually connecting to a server. This depends on #12

The is implemented (mostly) as a side-effect of #43, but I'd like for there to be a way to invoke the client specifically in an offline mode such that it doesn't even try to make network connections. This would involve a more configurable reconnection policy and a new flag.
