Problem reactivating mobile data #120

Hi there!

Status:

  • cm13 (always newest, last update today) on M5
  • SIM1 settings; data only
  • SIM2 settings; all phone calls
  • SMS ask for, or SIM1, or SIM2 (makes no difference)
  • using phone with mobile data activ (Wi-Fi depends on location)

Then:

  • need to deactivate mobile data and do so via menu "data usage" (first screenshot/attachment)
  • use phone offline or via Wi-Fi, makes no difference

Later:

  • want to activate mobile data again via menu "data usage" (Wi-Fi depends on location)
  • But ... I am often not able to do so because SIM1 is disappeared (second screenshot/attachment)

Only way to get the button back is:

  • Change SIM2 settings to "data only"
  • Change (back) SIM1 settings to "data only"
  • reboot doesn't help!

Some times it works propperly - but "99%" not! Any idea?

When going to "SIM menu" I get:

  • SIM1
  • SIM2
  • Preffered SIM
    = mobile data
    = calls
    = SMS
  • ...

In "preffered SIM" I've chosen
= mobile data - SIM1
= calls - SIM2
= SMS - ask (or SIM1 or SIM2 - depends on my location)

Thats what I mean with "data only"

Well ... in quick settings always only SIM1 is shown (and no dropdown menu).
A "button" to activate/deactivate mobile data I've seen there only in CM12 - since CM13 I've never seen any similar option there again.

I also cannot reproduce that one of the SIM cards disappears. Did you check logcat?

Sorry on my late answer ... first I was distracted not beeing able to reproducce, then only having 1 SIM in the quick menu (PS: I never see a menu entry for both - is this normal?) and then my work hit hard. %-|
=> I've simply forgotten about the toggle two steps inside the "quick menu". <= sigh

So my "status" on my question:

  • The toggle inside the "quick menu" is all time available and works, even if the whole tab in the menu "data usage" has vanished!
  • The whole tab inside the menu "data usage" still disappears regulary. ;-(
  • logcat; no, have to get it first and use it ... but I'm 4 weeks of from now on, takes time. Sorry!

But I discovered something else weird:

  • If toggle "quick menu" and toggle "data usage" are active ... mobile data is active
  • If only one of those two toggles is set to "inactive" ... mobile data is inactive BUT the other toggle stays in position acive
  • and vice versa (inactive = no data; set 1 toggle to active = data but 2nd toggle stays on inactive)

Hi there ... I'm back.

The problem still "active" on my phone - the "disappearing SIM".
(PS: after a SIM change I can say, that always only the data-SIM is shown in quick settings.)

Any advice of a tool to prefer? Got only CatLog on my phone.
Either way; on a first look I'm not able to find anything odd in my log.
(Maybe a hint on keywords to search for?)
