MAPDL.Solve errors out with MAPDLexitedError

Hi,

I am running PyMAPDL thru VSCode with Ansys 2021 R2 on an enterprise license.

All runs smoothly until I enter a solve command -mapdl.solve()- at which time it errors out with:
"name": "MapdlExitedError",
"message": "MAPDL server connection terminated"

I am able to open the apdl gui and pass control back and forth between MAPDL and PYMAPDL. I can develop the DB in PyMapdl and open the db file externally thru the apdl launcher.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @tnguyen78 The Ansys technical support engineer who has your service request on this has asked me to take the SR and I will be contacting you directly. I will post the result of the issue here when complete.

To those who get this far - turns out there was a missing all select prior to solving. Added that and the solve completed as expected.

Yea, I've run into that before.

Would be nice if we could protect the user from a nasty segfault by implementing some DOF checking (either in PyMAPDL or MAPDL).
