FAQ

  • I want the cutting edge version! Which branch should I track?
    The development-v0.2.x branch is only being used for bug fixes on the v0.2.x series. The next major version, v0.3.x, is on development. It contains several major changes that have not been explicitly documented as changes from v0.2.x, so you may run across some surprises until we write a comprehensive "New in 0.3" document.

    The development branch is more likely to have bugs. The development-v0.2.x branch is more likely to have fixes.

  • I found a bug! What do I do?  Report it on the discussion group or the Github issue tracker. Please check the issue tracker first.

  • Should I write a patch for X? Probably, but post to the discussion group first in case we have something similar in the works.

  • How can I SSH into my slave nodes? This is more of a general EMR question, but it doesn't seem to be documented anywhere else, so here you go: Accessing Elastic MapReduce slave nodes via SSH

  • My question isn't answered here or in the documentation. Try the discussion group. We pay close attention to it.
