The last version of xqf was released in 2014 and it doesn't build anymore:
checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0 gdk-pixbuf-xlib-2.0 x11... no
configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0 gdk-pixbuf-xlib-2.0 x11) were not met:
No package 'gdk-pixbuf-xlib-2.0' found
gdk-pixbuf-xlib was removed in gdk-pixbuf 2.42.0.
Can a new version of xqf that does build be released?

Yes, I may look at it in the coming months, I'm currently very busy right now but I would also like to do a release. Anyway if you're gonna build it, better build master, the release is indeed very obsolete.
@illwieckz does building RCON_STANDALONE work for you? Because it doesn't here. Sorry I can't provide more details right now, I can provide them later if needed, but it's really easy to reproduce against current master.
