automatic excerpt does not work properly with word count

Describe the bug
. The auto-excerpt (or 'custom-excerpt') function is buggy in the slideshow view. I use the value "50 words", but no matter how many words are in the review, systematically the "read more" text appears and 1 word has been cut-off. For example, one testimonial is "très bon prof, explications claires" and it shows "très bon prof, explications...": the last word "claires" has been cut-off. And in this case, even if I click on the "read more" text, the last word "claires" does not appear. On testimonials longer than 50 words, everything is working as intended. I am currently using 3.1.8 version
