G1. Check this box and enter “88” below for the Total GDS Score if and only if the subject: 1.) does not attempt the GDS, or 2.) answers fewer than 12 questions.

https://github.com/naccdata/uniform-data-set/blob/main/forms/uds/b6/form_b6_ivp_questions_and_vars.csv

Rules in NACC documentation:

  • If NOGDS == 1, then GDS = 88

Should this also be true?

  • If NOGDS == 1, then MODE = 3

@ashleybot Based off the wording from NACC, I believe it is safe to say that if NODGDS ==1, then the MODE == 3. This indicates that either the subject did not attempt the GDS at all or they answered 12 or fewer of the 15 total questions on the form. Both scenarios result in an incomplete GDS assessment. If necessary, I can reach out to Justin and ask for confirmation. Just let me know.

However, it might be worth updating the NOGDS description in the UDS app to add additional clarity, while also ensuring it mirrors the official UDS4 form from NACC

@Oddvocado Oh, yeah the copy does need to be updated. Could you create a card for it and put it in the bottom of the backlog?

All this makes sense, but I wonder if there is something that we're missing. Like perhaps, when the box is checked, do they still want the data for the questions that were answered even if it isn't all of them? Might be good to double check with Justin.

@ashleybot Spoke with Justin. He confirmed that the mode should be marked as "not completed" if the box is checked. He also mentioned that he would check with NACC about whether they want responded-to-items if fewer than 12 responses are given. Regardless, he wants us to store any responses locally, even if fewer than 12 items are answered and the box is checked.

Closing this because @mlan225 is going through the NACC specs and will create new issue cards with any needed validation.
