Current downloading workflow is well suited for CLI applications, where a list of resources is built upfront, and the resources are downloaded sequentially afterwards. However, this workflow does not work well for GUIs.

Let's explore an option to extend the API for defining download tasks that can be executed asynchronously and report the progress via provided handle.
