The universal cartridge chip finally arrived, and needs to be installed.
Ohjevideo

  • One cartridge and one tank needs to be cleaned thoroughly. The cartridge should be "newer model" that has a chip with a matching size with the universal cartridge kit. Follow the instructions on ProtoArt website. When cleaning, don't leave IPA in the cartridge for too long.
  • Follow the instructions on ProtoArt website and youtube video linked above to install the chip in place.
  • We need to decide together which third party resin we'd like to use in the universal cartridge. Do some research and prepare a short introduction of the best all-around options including resin properties, pricing and availability to present in yhteisömiitti.
  • Buy resin.
  • Connect the chip to a PC, open Configurator software and set the chip to the setting that matches with the chosen resin type. EACH TIME YOU SET THE RESIN TYPE, WE LOSE ONE OF THE 10 RESETS (thanks so much ProtoArt....).
  • Print new labels on the cartridge?
  • Decide where we want to keep the resin that is used in the universal cartridge.
  • Put instructions about the universal cartridge somewhere visible near the printer.
  • Do some digging on how the reset counter works?
