Installation
After installation the theme does not show up on first foobar start, what went wrong?
You have either installed foobar v2.0 ( and later ) as 64-bit ( works only with 32-bit for now! )
or you did not follow the exact installation steps. Try again.
When will the theme run on foobar 64-bit?
When all required user-components will be compiled to 64-bit, I have no control when it will be available.
For more information check this thread here.
Controls
Why does it play only one song and does not continue the album?
That's because you're only adding one song from the "Library" to the "Library View" playlist.
Double click on one song and go to "Playlist" ( if Library panel is active, click again on the Library top menu button to go back to the Playlist ), only one song has been added to the "Library View" playlist. If you double click on an entire album, the whole album will be added to the Playlist. If you double click in the "Library", it will always replace the clicked albums/songs in the "Library View" playlist.
If you don't want to replace the "Library View" playlist, just right click for context menu and select > Add to current playlist.
Or if you make a new playlist and the "Library View" playlist is not active but another, it will add songs/albums to the current active
playlist.
You should also play around the playlist manager to get a better understanding how it works.
The Library does not behave the same as the Playlist. If you double click one song in the Playlist, it will sequentially play to the next track.
If you want the same behavior in the "Library", just double click on the album, it will start to play from the first track, when it ends, it will play the next song. If you want to skip, click on the "Next" button in the lower bar.
When you're in doubt what the Playlist and what the Library is, check the top menu button indicator what currently is activated.
If nothing is activated, your at the Playlist = Home. You can always click on the current activated button indicator to go back the Playlist/Home panel.
One last thing, the "Library View" playlist is an automatically generated autoplaylist for the Library. This playlist will always be modified if you double click on albums or tracks in the "Library", just think of it as a temp playlist. It's always recommended to generate new normal playlist/s where you add your albums/tracks you like to keep, so that all your music in your playlist won't get removed.
How can I listen to radio streams?
That's pretty easy, just download the m3u or pls streaming file format and drag it to your playlist.
You can then delete the m3u or pls streaming files, the streaming information will be saved in the playlist file.
MP3, AAC and OGG codecs are supported.
How can I load and play CUE files correctly?
The foo_cuefixer component is needed which is already installed.
You need to go to foobar's preferences:
Preferences > Media library > File types > Exclude: *.CUE <- Remove.
Preferences > Shell Integration > `Exclude file types:` *.CUE <- Remove.
How do I create playlists and access the playlist manager?
You can find the playlist manager in four different ways:
In the top of the playlist ( mouse hover ) header, then click on the text button > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
Right click for context menu in the playlist > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
In the playlist just hit CTRL + M. Right click > Create new playlist
In the top menu "Playlists" > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
In the playlist manager you can switch/rename or change order of your playlists.
For fast playlist switch, click on the top of the playlist ( mouse hover ) header.
How can I lock a playlist?
The Lock playlist option is to be found in the Playlist tools context menu:
In the top of the playlist ( mouse hover ) header, then click on the text button > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
Right click for context menu in the playlist > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
In the top menu "Playlists" > Playlist tools > Create new playlist
Note: To unlock just go again to the Playlist tools context menu > Unlock playlist

My foobar does not look like in the screenshots, what went wrong?
First, check if you have installed everything correctly, go to top menu Help > Georgia-ReBORN theme status and see
if all are checked. You don't need to have the optional image packs installed, but they look pretty cool in Details.
Second, check if your albums are tagged correctly and if your album folder does contain a cover.
If you want to tag your albums automatically, you can choose between:
foo_MusicBrainz: https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_musicbrainz
foo_discogs: https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_discogs
My foobar displays weird icons, what am I missing?
You have not installed the fonts correctly, install all located fonts from your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn\fonts folder.
For Windows: Into your C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
For Linux: Into your home/user/.local/share/fonts folder.
How do you display flags in the playbar?
You need to tag your album with the <ARTISTCOUNTRY> tag:
In the playlist click on the album cover to select all songs, right click > Properties.
Now click on the +add new button and type ARTISTCOUNTRY. In the value field type the country ( e.g United States ).
Click OK and now the flag should display in the playbar.
How do you display the disc art in Details?
If you don't have any disc art, you can choose between 13 self created placeholders:
Options > Details > Disc art > Display disc art placeholder - or
You need to download the disc art from https://fanart.tv and put them in your album folder with the following structure support:
How can I display artist photos in the library?
If you want to display artist photos in the library, you need to link your path to your biography directory.
Go to File > Preferences > Display and under Album art click on the Artist tab. Here you need to set
your full path, e.g: E:\PortableApps\foobar2000\profile\yttm\art_img$cut(%artist%,1)%artist%*
If you now fetch the images from the biography, it will automatically update your library with the photos.
You can easily switch the view from albums to artists. If album art or flow mode is active, right click
in the library > Show artists, to go back to default view open again the context menu and choose Show albums.
I downloaded the image packs but Artist Logos Part 2 is empty, is it down?
No, everything is good. This means the current size of the image pack does not need to be split into two parts
for the Github size limit.

How do I backup, update, restore and reset the theme? Backup:
In your profile folder backup the index-data folder ( stored information of playcounts, last.fm scrobbles and lyrics )
and the playlists-v1.4 folder. Optional: If you want to save your current theme settings, go to
Options > Settings > Theme settings > Create/Restore backup. Click on the Export button and save the json file.
Also make a backup of your current georgia-reborn-config.jsonc from your profile\georgia-reborn folder.
Update:
Download the latest https://github.com/TT-ReBORN/Georgia-ReBORN/archive/master.zip
and replace your existing files.
Restore:
If you made a completely new installation, start and close foobar. This will automatically create the index-data and
playlists-v1.4 folders. Just replace those folders and if you followed the optional backup step ( save theme settings )
replace your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc, start foobar and go to
Options > Settings > Theme settings > Create/Restore backup and click on Import. Load your saved json file.
Reset:
Go to Options > Settings > Theme settings > Reset all.
Warning, this will also reset your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file to default. if you have modified the config file,
you should probably make a backup. If you still encounter some problems, you could try to manually delete your
panel properties in Options > Settings > Theme settings > Create/Restore backup and click on the Clear button.
How do I backup and transfer my playlists?
If you want to transfer your playlists to a new foobar installation just copy your old existing
playlists-v1.4 folder in foobar\profile and replace it with the new existing one.
How does the config system work?
Set all your custom theme settings via the top menu Options menu.
If you use top menu Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Save settings to config file, all your settings will be automatically written to the georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file located in your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn folder.
You can use top menu Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Load default settings and it will NOT overwrite settings
in the config file. To change back to your config settings, use top menu Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Load settings from config file.
Almost all settings can now by modified and set in the config file, if you make a new installation, just overwrite your existing config file and restart foobar. Now the theme loads and uses the config settings again.
Only some settings in the config file must be manually set and will NOT be saved when using top menu
Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Save settings to config file. These settings are extra noted in the section header.
If something goes wrong, backup your config file and use top menu Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Reset all.
This will reset all settings and also those in your config file. Or just delete the config file and reload the theme.
A new config file will be created on the next reload/foobar start.
Customization
How can I set custom theme, styles, preset for music albums ( will be available in the upcoming version ) ?
You can set your preferred theme, styles or a preset and select the album in the playlist or library.
Right click for context menu and select the option "Write theme tags". Your album will now have all theme tags written into your files.
Before you write your albums with theme tags, you should try the theme sandbox mode ( Options > Settings > Theme sandbox ).
It is useful when finishing up with tagging your albums and you want to restore your original theme state. When this mode is active,
you can change different themes, styles or presets and after disabling the theme sandbox mode, previously used theme settings
can be restored.
Detailed explanation, when setting it up manually:
You need to use the custom Georgia-ReBORN tags - %GR_THEME%, %GR_STYLE% and %GR_PRESET% -
in your music files and set the value(s) from below. If you use the %GR_PRESET%, it will override %GR_THEME% and %GR_STYLE% because theme presets already have a predefined theme and styles. Here are following examples how it works:
Will override only the current active theme and use the black theme with current active styles: %GR_THEME%black
Will override the current active theme and styles and use the white theme with following preferred styles: %GR_THEME%white %GR_STYLE%bevel, blackAndWhite, topMenuButtons=bevel, transportButtons=inner, progressBarDesign=rounded, progressBarBg=inner, progressBarFill=bevel, volumeBarDesign=rounded, volumeBarBg=inner, volumeBarFill=bevel
Will override the current active theme and styles and will use the "Reborn fusion beveled" theme preset: %GR_PRESET%rebornP16
When music albums do not have custom Georgia-ReBORN tags - %GR_THEME%, %GR_STYLE% and %GR_PRESET%
it will automatically use and restore the last active theme and styles. You could theoretically tag every music album you have
to your taste, a more practical solution would be to use the Option > Preset > Select mode > Harmonic feature
and tag music albums you would like to change. The fastest way would be to use only the %GR_PRESET% tag.

How can I add or remove tags displayed in Details?
You need to edit your georgia-reborn-config file, it can be found in your:
foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn\georgia-reborn-config.jsonc
This json file can be edited in any text editor, find the "metadataGrid" section and edit it to your liking,
but be careful that the line you edited ends with a comma, unless it’s the last entry in an object or array.
Make sure you spelled all the required properties correctly and you didn’t inadvertently delete a } or ].
If something goes wrong and the theme does not load correctly, you can delete the edited config file
and a new one will be automatically created upon next foobar start.
How can I add my own custom view patterns in the playlist and library?
In the playlist, right click for the context menu and select:
Grouping > Manage presets
In the library, click on the settings menu ... and navigate to Configure views.
At the bottom, click on the Add new button and paste your custom view pattern, e.g:
You can also change the view order by clicking the Up and Down buttons located at the bottom.
How can I customize the playlist header info?
Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc config file located in your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn directory,
at the bottom in the `"settings"` section under:
`"playlistCustomHeaderInfo": "", // You can use your own custom pattern for the playlist header info`
If you are using the playlistCustomHeaderInfo everything except Genres ( Hyperlink ) at the beginning will be removed
and you can customize it as you like, you have only one line ( 3rd line ) though.
How can I set my own custom library, biography and lyrics directories?
- To set your own Library custom directory:
Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file at go to the `"libraryCustomDir"` section:

Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file at go to the `"lyricsCustomDir"` section.
Replace the path below and activate in top menu Options > Settings > Theme cache > Lyrics > Use custom lyrics directory.
How can I set my own lyrics directory?
Open your foobar preferences ( File > Preferences ) and go to Tools >ESLyric > Lyric Option > Save Settings.
In the Location field on the right side, click on the hamburger menu ( ... ) and set your path,
for this example we use D:\Audio\SongLyrics
Next go to and open your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn\js\settings.js
Search for the "tf.lyr_path" and add the path you have set previously in ESLyric.
Lyrics should be saved now in your new directory and displayed in Georgia-ReBORN.
How can I set custom lyric filenames?
Go to foobar's preferences > ESLyric > Lyric Option
In the file name field paste, e.g: `[$upper($stripprefix(%artist%)) - ]%title%`
Now open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc and go to "lyricFilenamePatterns" and just add:
`"$upper($stripprefix(%artist%)) - %title%",`
Save and restart foobar.
How can I create my own disc art CD/Vinyl with an image?
Open CD_Placeholder.psd ( example when creating a new CD ) and open your image.
Paste your image to the template and move the image layer in the White CD folder between layer Ellipse 3 and Layer 14.
Hold ALT key and drag the layer mask from Layer 14 to your image. Now click on the mask of your image layer and do CTRL + I
to invert the mask. The image should be now masked to the CD.
Now CTRL + click on Ellipse 4 layer to have a selection, Shift + Ctrl + I to inverse the selection.
While your image layer is active with the inner ring selection, use the bucket or brush with black color to mask the inner ring.
(Optional fine tuning) You can click on the chain icon of your image layer to unlock ( the mask will stay in its original position)
the mask, click on the image layer thumbnail again and use the move tool to position your image how you want.
File > Save as > cd.png and put it in your music album folder and restart foobar.
How can I add more of my own custom disc art placeholders?
Just follow all the steps in this tutorial here.
Issues
My foobar has become unresponsive, freezed or is lagging, what is the issue?
- First be sure that if you are using a third-party firewall, check if it is blocking foobar.
- Check if you have not set some aggressive CPU intensive settings:
Options > Settings > Theme performance >Highest Quality is only for the very best CPU's and benchmark.
If you have a fast/modern CPU "High Quality" preset is OK, Balanced preset ( default ) is the standard and good for the general public.
The biggest performance killers are:
If you have Options > Details >Disc art > Spin disc art while songs play active:
Options > Details > Full artwork opacity and Disc area opacity when it is not 100%
Options > Details > Disc art > Spinning disc art redraw speed ( low refresh rates )
Options > Player controls > Seekbar > Progress bar/Peakmeter bar/Waveform bar > Refresh rate ( low refresh rates ).
If you set these options to aggressive settings and your CPU is too slow, foobar will become unresponsive and freeze.
But for example, when using the peakmeter bar, refresh rate setting to 60ms or 30ms has really smooth animation.
Everything depends on how fast the user's singe-core CPU performance is.
- If you are using a CPU throttling program, exclude it from the program.
Georgia-REBORN and other themes are using JavaScript code that can be only processed single-threaded.
That means it needs full single-core CPU power, you can not decrease CPU power with CPU throttling programs.
If you do that, Georgia-REBORN and other themes will become unstable.
The biography does not fetch any images and only shows NO PHOTO, why is that?
Be sure that your firewall does not block foobar or any related files.
It is also possible that you have internet connection issues or the last.fm, AllMusic servers were down
at the moment, try again later.

playlists-v1.4 folders.
Set all your custom theme settings via the top menu Options menu.
in the config file. To change back to your config settings, use top menu Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Load settings from config file.
Options > Settings > Theme configuration > Save settings to config file. These settings are extra noted in the section header.
You need to use the custom Georgia-ReBORN tags - %GR_THEME%, %GR_STYLE% and %GR_PRESET% -
in your music files and set the
value(s)
from below. If you use the %GR_PRESET%, it will override %GR_THEME% and %GR_STYLE% because theme presets already have a predefined theme and styles. Here are following examples how it works:%GR_THEME%

%GR_PRESET%
rebornP16
When music albums do not have custom Georgia-ReBORN tags - %GR_THEME%, %GR_STYLE% and %GR_PRESET%
it will automatically use and restore the last active theme and styles. You could theoretically tag every music album you have
to your taste, a more practical solution would be to use the Option > Preset > Select mode > Harmonic feature
and tag music albums you would like to change. The fastest way would be to use only the %GR_PRESET% tag.

$stripprefix(%album artist%)|%date% %album%|[[%discnumber%.]%tracknumber%. ][%track artist% - ]%title% $swapprefix(%album artist%)|%date% %album%|[[%discnumber%.]%tracknumber%. ][%track artist% - ]%title%
You can also change the view order by clicking the Up and Down buttons located at the bottom.
How can I customize the playlist header info?
Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc config file located in your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn directory, at the bottom in the `"settings"` section under: `"playlistCustomHeaderInfo": "", // You can use your own custom pattern for the playlist header info`
If you are using the playlistCustomHeaderInfo everything except Genres ( Hyperlink ) at the beginning will be removed and you can customize it as you like, you have only one line ( 3rd line ) though.
How can I set my own custom library, biography and lyrics directories?
- To set your own Library custom directory: Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file at go to the `"libraryCustomDir"` section: Replace the path below and activate in top menu Options > Settings > Theme cache > Library > Use custom library directory.
- To set your own Biography custom directory: Open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc file at go to the `"biographyCustomDir"` section: Replace the path below and activate in top menu Options > Settings > Theme cache > Biography > Use custom biography directory.
- To set your own Lyrics custom directory: Change in foobar's Preferences > ESLyric > Lyric options > Location to your custom lyric folder.
In the Location field on the right side, click on the hamburger menu ( ... ) and set your path, for this example we use D:\Audio\SongLyrics
Next go to and open your foobar2000\profile\georgia-reborn\js\settings.js
Search for the "tf.lyr_path" and add the path you have set previously in ESLyric.
tf.lyr_path = [ // simply add, change or re-order entries as needed '$replace($replace(%path%,%filename_ext%,),\,\\)', fb.ProfilePath + 'lyrics\\', fb.FoobarPath + 'lyrics\\', 'D:\\Audio\\SongLyrics\\', ];
Lyrics should be saved now in your new directory and displayed in Georgia-ReBORN.
How can I set custom lyric filenames?
Go to foobar's preferences > ESLyric > Lyric Option In the file name field paste, e.g: `[$upper($stripprefix(%artist%)) - ]%title%`
Now open your georgia-reborn-config.jsonc and go to "lyricFilenamePatterns" and just add: `"$upper($stripprefix(%artist%)) - %title%",`
