<h4>Compressed air energy storage (CAES) is a proven method for energy storage. Excess generation is used to fill the orphaned wells with compressed air.
This air is then released through turbines to meet peak demands in the evening. Providing low cost electricity for Canadians and a revenue stream to rehabilitate orphaned wells.</h4>

<h6>The well is prepared by lining the casing with a reinforced polymer, and then plugging the bottom with an epoxy cement;
hence the compressed air cannot leak into the strata or displace any any remaining petrochemicals in the reserve.</h6><br>
<h6>During times of excess power generation a compression turbine forces air through a thermal storage medium and into the well.</h6><br>
<h6>When demand outstrips supply the air is from the well, reheated as it travels through the thermal storage, and then used to drive a turbine feeding electricity into the grid.</h6><br>
<h6>Using orphaned wells for CAES provides distributed energy storage, with good connection into the electricity grid.</h6>
