The url shortener functionality only works on chrome and does not work on Safari or Firefox

Would be great if someone can help modifiy the code to work in every browser
(Chrome/edge/firefox/safari) in mac android ios and windows

I'll share the files where the changes are necessary if anyone is willing to take up the issue
