Is it possible to retrieve collection information alongside a Menu?

I’m populating a navigation menu in Hydrogen and I’m using the following graphql query to retrieve the menu and it’s items of which most are actually collection references.

Here is a sample of the output I get from the above query:

Is it possible to now somehow retrieve more information on the collection such as it's Image (which is set in the Shopify Admin) so I can also display that inside the Navigation menu on the front-end?

I believe this is a limitation of the Storefront API; you can leave feedback / upvote this specific issue if you would like to see them improve it.
