I'm curious too. I haven't found the right time and place to implement Tug
at my org (FinTech), but I believe it's likely to become the best option
for organizations using DSC that can't just put everything in the cloud.
Until I have our use case in place, I'm not in much of a position to
contribute, but would be after.
I realize we have the classic chicken and egg problem here.
Anyway, sorry for not adding much, but I wanted to come out of lurking to
say there's still those of us waiting in the wings for our own use cases to
mature and then contribute.

We're getting close to a year of no activity. It's over 11 months since
the last commit and about 9 months since anyone has responded to issues.
Also, the solution doesn't build due to package dependency conflicts.
So, what is the status of this project? Is it still active? Is the
resurrection (#87 <#87>) still
coming?
I'm looking to contribute, but I want to make sure it's worth it.

I've been using the default DSC-service so far, waiting for a better solution. With it, publishing configurations & modules is not pretty, but I have that automated. But getting information from the service is just painful. I've been trying to script around the reporting from the service, but it really feels like solving the wrong problem. I just want a dashboard that auto-updates as activity is being reported. The Microsoft documentation on DSC references 2 open source projects, Tug & DSC-TRÆK. Both look dead to me. I wonder what other people are using. Did everyone else move over to Azure Automation, or what? |
