Feature Request - better searching and sorting

Hello! This site is a great resource, but I was hoping that improvements could be made to searching and sorting, or maybe clearer directions could be given.

Searching: Searches are wildcarded and there doesn't seem to be a way to fine-tune them. For example, searching for the artist "Down" will result in "Down", "System of a Down", "Letdown" and a whole swath of others. There doesn't seem to be any way to search explicitly for just charted songs by the band "Down"

Sorting: Doesn't seem to be possible at all. The search results come back and you get the order you get. It would be nice to be able to sort alphabetically by band, song, genre, instrument, etc.

Sorting does actually work, it's just not documented or accessible through buttons on the site. See #378 for a solution!
