@tonyzeoli Maybe we should use https://obsproject.com/contribute as a model - Use the Open Collective for supporting stations and sponsorships
Use the Patron for individual supporters
OBSCheck out how they differentiate between Open Collective & Patron Sponsor OBS Project on Open CollectiveContribute on OpenCollective Open Collective contributions go to a communal fund used to support core members of the OBS developer community. The usage of these funds is transparent and publicly visible. Companies that sponsor the OBS Project on Open Collective will be featured on this page, and Gold/Diamond/Premiere sponsors will be featured on the home page. If your business or content channel relies on Open Broadcaster Software as part of your source of income, we recommend sponsoring the OBS Project. Support Jim on Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/obsproject Hugh "Jim" Bailey is OBS Projects full-time lead developer and project maintainer. You can support his work directly by contributing on Patreon. Patrons at the $50 tier and above are listed on this page as a thank you for their support. If you're a creator or individual that relies on Open Broadcaster Software as part of your source of income, we recommend sponsoring Jim. |

@tonyzeoli With regards again to the development of add-ons or new features, we can create all or nothing fundraising campaigns.
Think it would be best to include any post-development cost (maintenance, support, etc.) in our overall funding goals - i.e. how much $$ & what resources do we need to support Radio station + add-ons as a whole (this issue is related https://github.com/OpenProducer/internal/issues/7). We can then identify all revenue streams (donations, sponsorship, % of paid products &services, etc) needed to cover that cost. OBS, referenced above OpenProducer/community#15 (comment), again provides a model we could follow. |

Copying the on-topic chat from Open Collective Slack to better track and move forward -
@tonyzeoli Seems like what you're saying aligns with the OBS model I referenced and described above OpenProducer/community#15 (comment) Think something like that could work for Radio Station? |

@tonyzeoli Check the last bit of convo in #openproducer (Open Collective Slack) when you can. I think we should draft something out in a Google doc and then ask for tips and feedback in that channel. |

Circling back to this issue as I'm noticing there's a 'project' set up for Radio Station on the collective page - As mentioned in https://github.com/OpenProducer/internal/issues/7 I think could use the main collective page to sustain Radio Station ongoing and use 'projects' for specific features or campaigns. OBS again provides some good examples for tiers/goals as well as projects - If you think we could make better use of the Radio Station collective, I'd be happy to create and share a Google doc so we can draft something. |

A couple of other things to do or evaluate after talking with @tonyzeoli this week. First off, we were talking about Patreon vs. Open Collective as the goto platform for 'stations and other groups/orgs to donate'. As mentioned in OpenProducer/community#15 (comment), what if we sent individuals to Patreon? A couple things that @tonyzeoli pointed out were things that we'd need to review with @majick777
A couple other benefits/perks for stations/other groups if we centralized on Open Collective
All in all, it would be good to make better use of https://opencollective.com/radio-station as a way to sustain the project and the team! |

With https://opencollective.com/radio-station now active (nice job grabbing that url!) we should figure out the tiers, perks, and goals. Looking over the first pass, I'm thinking
The tiers/levels on https://www.patreon.com/radiostation seem closer to what we'd want to set up on the collective. Possibly we can recreate and flesh out the copy/perks a bit more?
Possibly we should draft on a Google doc since there's no way to do that on the collective?
