@angelcityjazz I enabled and converted this issue to a discussion. Also changed the title, and deleted or hid some off-topic comments (still accessible in the original issue). Thought this would be a better format to discuss website monetization strategy. For now I'll leave the initial description intact since we can still leverage the platform (whenever it makes sense) and what Open Collective Foundation and partners in their ecosystem provide via our OpenProducer collective (a project of Open Collective Foundation). That said, we will not be embedding or integrating Open Collective on the website (at least in the near term) - so we can make better use of more of the monetization features that ship with the Newspack platform we're using. Ideally we can connect on a call w/ @tonyzeoli to discuss in the near future. In the meantime, I'll just link to a full list of features https://newspack.com/support/ and we can discuss monetization features we've yet to use. |

If we set up ACJ on Open Collective, we'll tap into resources I tried to outline here #34 (comment). Big benefit would be that Open Collective Foundation (in partnership with OpenProducer, an Open Collective Foundation project), could provide the following types of services to Angel City Arts.
I'm not sure the services would be free (I'm currently talking with OCF about costs and how OpenProducer can partner), but considering we'd integrate Open Collective (see how it works) into the website (we'd integrate into our platform so no additional cost to you) we could eliminate the need for most of your paid plugins (including almost $500 of WooCommerce plugins #35). If you'd be able to re-allocate that budget to 'fundraising' services, I'm thinking that would probably suffice.
If it sounds like an option worth exploring, I can spin off a separate issue and outline the benefits and next steps.
