just for the record: the ID's generated by by shortid are a little too nasty. (e.g. S1Z-R0n_). they're both hard on the eyes and can't often can't be double-clicked. Oddly there's no easy way around this in shortid, but myson didn't have this prob, so I wonder if there's an easy alternative.

I guess we could remove the "-" and "_" characters? I can push a fix for that pretty quickly.

i think that would be great. as i said, i didn't see the quick fix in shortid, but quite possible i'm overlooking something :)
