There is a lot of overlap between MAAP and VEDA in terms of use cases and also audiences.

In terms of docs, the main area where they are distinct is how to get access and other platform-specific technicalities such as how to set up environments.

They are similar for the use cases for science compute on (NASA) Earth data and in part also how to receive support for scientific computing with STAC, S3, Python packages like rasterio, xarray, geopandas, etc.

At some point, it might make sense to merge the two docs - keeping platform-specific information separate but bringing most other things together.

I love this ticket 😍 !! We definitely should not be duplicating effort on these. I keep mulling over the idea of how we could make a centralized docs solution that any EO in a box could tweak with their platform-specific load instructions and use. I don't really have an idea of what that looks like yet, but I find it worrying that so much effort is going into planetary computer docs and veda-docs, and MAAP docs while the projects themselves (pystac, pystac-client and so on) have kind of neglected docs. I get that the are at a different level, but I would love to see a tighter integration with the individual libraries.

Modular docs? 🤷
