JULY/AUGUST

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Closed the call for proposals with the highest amount of submissions of over 800 proposals
• Successful launched our Dialogue and Debate speaker series with 9 confirmed speakers already
• Low-FI work week successful with time spent designing MozFest towards 2020 strategy, location scouting has begun and legacy project for UK in design stage
• Attended SRCCON
• Played supporting role for Hive Chatt as they design and build 24 hr launch event

LEARNINGS

• More focus on storytelling and communication of this story needs to applied for 2016 festival- we are in the process of hiring a new copy editor

PRIORITIES FOR NEXT MONTH

• Curation of program and supporting Space wranglers
• Designing facilitation training and mentorship
• Focus on defining logistical pieces into place
• Preparing for H&S documentation and RA completion
• Promotion and Marketing of festival
• Onboarding of new assets designers
• Website updates and scheduling app design and dev work

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Started Space Wrangler 1:1 trainings
• Started Facilitator trainings
• Published Facilitator guide (for the first time ever - new asset)
• Shipped key festival design assets (style guide, festival guide, wayfinding etc.)
• Confirmed Speaker Series speakers and sent them a playbook
• Hired and onboarded Stevie Benton, the MozFest Editor
• Worked with Mavis on the Schedule App
• Shared "MozFest to 2020 Decisions and how we are making them" with Claw and Mark
• Successful collaboration with MoCo on MozFest marketing piece
• Invited 300+ key influencers to MozFest (Paul)
• Suppored Hive Chatt at the 48H Launch
• Met with Hive Chicago to start planning HiveChiBuzz 2017
• Began ideating on a program to uplevel community members through convenings with Hive Chatt and Hive Kansas City

LEARNINGS

• Managing the Space Wranglers, and by extension the Session Hosts, is an extraordinary amount of work. We could use more support on this next year.
